Privacy Policy

Choperly (“Choperly”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a WhatsApp-native ordering platform for food businesses, operated by Pesewa Brands, a business registered in Ghana. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to food-business sellers using our dashboard, their delivery riders, and end-customers who place orders through a seller’s WhatsApp bot.
1. Information we collect
From sellers (business owners) signing up on our dashboard:
- Name, email address, and Firebase Authentication identifier
- Business name, logo, operating hours, and delivery zones
- WhatsApp number, personal WhatsApp number, and Mobile Money number
- Paystack subaccount details where connected for automatic payouts
From ridersadded to a seller’s delivery team:
- Name, WhatsApp number, and availability status
- Delivery history and ratings associated with the seller
From customersordering through a seller’s WhatsApp bot:
- WhatsApp number and profile name as shared by WhatsApp
- Messages sent to the seller’s bot, including location pins when shared
- Order items, delivery address, and payment method
- Payment references from Paystack (we never see full card or MoMo PINs)
2. How we use your information
- To operate the automated WhatsApp bot so customers can browse menus, place orders, and receive status updates
- To route payments through Paystack and surface payout balances to sellers
- To dispatch delivery riders and help sellers track what they owe riders after deliveries
- To authenticate seller accounts and secure the dashboard
- To provide customer support and troubleshoot technical issues
- To improve the platform and develop new features
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use customer messages or order data to train third-party AI models.
3. Who we share data with
We share the minimum data needed with these service providers:
- Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform)— to send and receive messages on behalf of sellers. Governed by Meta’s own privacy terms.
- Google Firebase — to host our database, authenticate accounts, and store business assets.
- Paystack — to process card and Mobile Money payments and settle funds to seller subaccounts. Paystack is PCI-DSS compliant and registered with the Bank of Ghana.
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — where sellers opt into AI-assisted features, we may send a limited slice of message content for inference. No customer phone numbers are included in these requests.
We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Choperly, our users, or the public.
4. Data retention
- Seller and rider records are retained while the account is active and for up to 24 months after closure, to satisfy accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.
- Order and payment records are retained for 5 years to comply with Ghana Revenue Authority recordkeeping rules.
- Customer WhatsApp interactions are retained only while needed to fulfil the order and for 6 months thereafter for dispute resolution.
5. Your rights
Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data, subject to the retention rules above
- Object to or restrict specific uses of your data
- Lodge a complaint with the Ghana Data Protection Commission

6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase Authentication, role-based access control on our database, and secret rotation for API tokens. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage sellers to use strong passwords and enable multi-factor authentication where available.
7. Children
Choperly is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Choperly evolves. Material changes will be notified to sellers via the dashboard or their registered email address at least 14 days before taking effect.
